Your current quote journey

20 practical checks across eight areas.

What is a fabrication quote-flow scorecard?

It is a practical checklist for owners, estimating teams, operations managers and technical reviewers. It covers the customer journey through CAD intake, job information, materials and services, estimator review, quotation, order handoff and repeat work.

Use the workflow you operate today, including the steps handled by people. Laser cutting, waterjet, sheet metal, forming, tube and CNC businesses may need different information. Mark a check “Not applicable” when it does not belong in your workflow.

Your answers stay in this browser tab for up to 24 hours so you can move between sections or refresh. Results appear immediately. You can print them, save a PDF through your browser, or choose to attach them to a Quote-Flow Review request.

Why quote-flow quality matters

An estimator may receive a usable DXF while still needing the material grade, thickness, quantity or correct revision. Gathering those details across separate messages creates avoidable follow-up before manufacturing judgement can begin.

Scattered files also make handoff harder. Customers need to know what happens next, and repeat buyers benefit from preserving approved parts and project history. A useful improvement connects the information, the responsible person and the customer’s next action.

The Scorecard highlights those connections. It assesses the journey described in your answers, rather than fabrication quality or financial performance. Its bands are an A3GET assessment framework, not industry benchmarks.

Should every fabrication quote be automated?

No. A controlled workflow supports different outcomes and makes each one understandable to the customer:

Price-ready
Supported work with complete information and established manufacturing and commercial rules can proceed to a price.
Guided
A customer needs help choosing a specification or completing information before the next decision.
Manual review
An estimator evaluates unusual, ambiguous, risky or commercially sensitive work. This is a deliberate outcome.
Blocked or corrective
Unsupported work or invalid information needs correction or a clear explanation before it can proceed.

Clear rules can direct the most repeatable work while preserving estimator judgement. Explore fabrication quoting systems and the boundaries of CAD and geometry processing.

What happens after the scorecard?

Start with the weakest areas that matter to your customers. A Quote-Flow Review lets A3GET examine your actual website and CAD/RFQ process, identify repeated or missing information and suggest a sensible first improvement.

If there is a suitable project, discovery can lead to a paid Portal Blueprint Sprint, a controlled pilot and then full deployment. The initial pilot should focus on a repeatable workflow with clear limits. Read about managed fabrication portals and hosting, security and data responsibilities.
